A strong foundation for a stronger future

The first 1,000 days from birth to age two are critical for brain development. At Kangaroo Kids, we believe in starting early to build a strong foundation for your child’s future learning and growth, with thoughtfully designed programmes for toddlers.

The Toddler Programme invites you and your child to come together and engage in activities that deepen your bond while activating your child’s brain. Every session is a blend of play, exploration, and learning that sparks curiosity while helping your child build connections with the world at large.

The Toddler Transition Programme seamlessly prepares little learners for the next phase of their learning journey, offering them an opportunity to explore the world and develop essential skills in a stimulating learning environment.

What sets the Parent-Toddler
Programme apart?

The First 1,000
Days Matter

The first two years are vital for brain development. We enable parent-toddler connection through play in a science-backed setting that builds lifelong skills.

Molecular Brain
Process

Positive early interactions, such as bonding and sensory experiences, play a significant role in shaping brain processes and are key to a toddler's cognitive and emotional growth. We emphasise these interactions to enable future development.

Inquiry-Based Learning

We nurture each child’s potential through inquiry-based learning, focusing on their strengths and capabilities. Our approach highlights what children can do, rather than what they cannot. This method encourages exploration, questioning, and self-discovery, fostering the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Competence-Based
Learning Approach

Our competence-based curriculum develops the attitudes, knowledge and skills to succeed. iCan learning statements clearly articulate the skills children can acquire, creating a positive, growth-oriented environment that empowers learners to take ownership of their educational journey

Fluidic Learning
Methodology

Our adaptive learning methodology combines digital and physical spaces, enabling learners to learn at their own pace with the optimal tools for the given situation. This enables seamless transitions between classroom and online learning.

A curriculum built on the latest research in neuroscience and child development

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a typical day for toddlers?

Our day is filled with a range of structured activities and free play. Children engage in age-appropriate activities like story time, arts and crafts, music, physical activity and sensory play to enhance curiosity and developmental skills.

Our Toddler Programme incorporates an inquiry-based learning style comprising exploration, discovery and hands-on learning. Activities are planned to promote creativity, problem solving and independent thought, as well as social skills development and emotional development.

At Kangaroo Kids, safety is our top priority. Each classroom is equipped with age-appropriate furniture, toys, and materials, ensuring a secure and stimulating environment. We maintain a low child-to-teacher ratio to provide personalized attention and close monitoring of activities. This allows for individualized learning experiences and high-quality care. Additionally, all of our staff members are trained in child safety protocols and first aid, ensuring the well-being of every child in our care.

Social and emotional development is a core area in our Toddler Programme. Through group play, guided interactions and purposeful activities, children learn to share, communicate and express feelings, as well as develop empathy. We also give significant emphasis to independence and self-confidence.

The programme activities include sensory exploration, fine and gross motor skill activities, interactive games, music, stories, pretend play and simple art projects. All activities are designed to be fun and developmentally appropriate, focusing on fostering creativity and learning through experience.

We maintain an open line of communication with parents through regular updates, Learner –Led conference on a quarterly basis. Our goal is to ensure that parents are always informed about their child’s development and milestones.

Support for potty training is provided for children who are ready. Our staff will be supportive, positive, and encouraging throughout the process, working closely with parents to ensure a smooth and confident transition for each child.

To ensure individualized attention and high-quality learning experiences, we maintain a low teacher-to-child ratio. The ratio of 1 teacher for every 6-8 children is maintained for the toddler program.

Our Toddler Transition Programme includes activities and learning experiences that gradually prepare children for the next stage of education. This includes developing independence, following instructions and socialising with peers – helping them transition smoothly into a preschool setting.

Parents are generally asked to bring a change of clothes, diapers or pull-ups (if needed), a water bottle and any personal comfort items (like a favourite blanket or toy). We’ll provide other materials and supplies.

We encourage continued parental involvement through regular communication with our facilitators, attendance at events and involvement in the class activities. You’re invited to share special memories or success stories with us to enhance the learning process.

Outside the classroom, we offer the ‘iCan Learn and Create Kit’ with interactive projects and learning materials for continued learning at home. It supports toddlers’ learnings from preschool and enhances curiosity and creativity.

Extended Learning and Real-World Experiences
We believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. That’s why we integrate Extended Learning, Real-World Learning, and International Days into our curriculum. These experiences are connected to each theme, providing learners with hands-on opportunities to explore and engage with real-world challenges. This approach not only builds their knowledge but also enriches their vocabulary and practical understanding.

At Kangaroo Kids, toddlers get to meet experts who are really good at what they do! These special visitors share fun stories and exciting activities that help our little learners discover new things. It’s a chance for the toddlers to explore, ask questions, and see how the world works while having fun!
