Sports

Billabong High is deeply committed to an all- round education at the school level. The core curriculum is enhanced by an extensive extra co-curricular activities program that extends the education of our students beyond the confines of the classrooms. The program provides opportunities for recreation, relaxation and a release from the academic schedule, in a safe and comfortable environment. Individual talents and potential abilities of children are discovered, nurtured and sustained.

Students learn to collaborate, be effective team players, better their performance and aspire for victory within the parameters of accepted rules. Sports help inculcate discipline, self confidence, team spirit, sense of belonging, pride and also understand that victory and defeat is an ongoing process. All classrooms are well lit up and centrally air-conditioned thus increasing the child’s efficiency and reducing the fatigue in summers.

Dance

‘Dancers are the athletes of God’ – Albert Einstein

Since times immemorial, dance has been the expression of our lives. Dancing contributes immensely to the personal improvement of the child and thereby enhances all types of skills that are required for better education.
Research has shown that dancing boosts child’s self-esteem and enhances confidence in them. Dancing requires memorization and so helps children improve their overall memory when trying to remember steps. Dancing improves listening skills in children, whether it is for the instructions or for the beats. Dancing imbibes social skills in children and teaches them how to interact with their peers in a positive and a non-competitive manner.

The school is providing a good opportunity to all its students to learn both western and Classical dance forms under the supervision of trained teachers.

Music

“One good thing about music- when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley

Music education is important for exposing young children to a variety of instruments, choral arrangements, and style of music to enhance their educational experience and foster their academic, social, and emotional growth. Study of music enhances larger vocabularies and more advance reading skills along with creative thinking skills among learners. Studying music primes the brain to comprehend speech in a noisy background. In our school, we teach a variety of music instruments to all our students under the supervision of qualified faculty.
