BHISMUN
A Model United Nations, MUN, is an educational experience wherein students are appointed as delegates, representing a country, an international organisation or a member of parliament within committees, simulating the real-life United Nations. Billabong High International School proudly presents BHISMUN, a platform for the informed, insightful and innovative minds of today to explore plausible solutions to issues of great global significance.
A student-led initiative, upholding the fact that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow, BHISMUN aims to introduce and stimulate in the young participants- the thirst for knowledge, the desire to contribute, and the maturity to discern the right from the wrong with reference to human dignity and happiness. Morals, ideas, and convictions formulated in these young years though such events not only reflect their progress but also augment that of the world as a whole. It is imperative to shake and shape these in young minds, and our BHISMUN conclave aspires to do just that
Youth Parliament
We, at Billabong High, believe in teaching our students to become informed and responsible citizens of our country while developing a firm grasp on the concepts of democracy and the legislature of the Indian Parliamentary system. The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. By kindling a flame of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, we cultivate holistic individuals who are in charge of their future, whose morals and ideas will not only reflect their progress but also the progress and future of their country. It is crucial to promote these in young minds. The BHIS Youth Parliament aspires to do just that.
It is a model of Indian parliament, replicating the procedure of today’s legislative assembly to foster patriotic sentiments. We aim to promote a deeper social and political responsibility in the leaders of tomorrow, strengthening and building on the understanding of how our country operates. Through participation in the Youth Parliament, our parliamentarians will develop their skills in a variety of ways through a ‘learn by doing’ approach. It provides a platform to participate, to acquire or improve upon many skills such as public speaking, debate, presentation, research, and organizational skills, aiding their personal development.
