From the Principal's desk

Welcome to Billabong High International School, Malad. Shaping young, impressionable minds is one of life’s biggest challenges.

While respecting traditional values, we at Billabong High International School believe that only progressive education and a programme of studies will empower the students to lead fulfilling and productive lives in a changing world. We believe that academic learning is most effective when it is based upon active learning experiences, creative problem-solving and critical thinking.

Our distinctive academic programmes and innovative teaching methodologies encourage students to develop critical-thinking and learn through enquiry and reason, to exchange thoughts and ideas, to develop key personal and social values, to take ownership for his/ her choices and to set goals to realize their own unique potential.

We aim to empower our students to grow as individuals with strong open discerning minds with an international perspective, preparing them to make a mark in the global village - the world has come to be today.

To sum up with the famous quote of Kahlil Gibran:
"You may give your children your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday"

We empower a child to acquire knowledge
through the process of self exploration

We impart knowledge through innovative
teaching methodologies

  • Kameshwari Sridhar (Dhanya Sridhar’s mother, Class 4)

We are immensely grateful to the school, our madam Principal, Ms. Madhu, and teachers (Ms. Maksuda and her team) for imparting excellent online education to our daughter.
Our daughter's class teacher Ms. Maksuda is a wonderful class teacher who is proficient in teaching mathematics and EVS and has kid centric approach in training them and encouraging the kids to perform well.
She is fortunate to be trained in English Literature by Ms. Blanche who is very experienced and who has inculcated in my daughter interest in vocabulary, the art of reading and thinking beyond the story to form an independent opinion.
She is very excited to attend English Language classes with Ms. Jincy teacher who is adept in teaching grammar and Language topics and helped her improvise her writing skills.
Her Hindi teacher Ms. Seema Singh is a blessing, whose effervescence, excellent Language skills and numerous revisions keeps my daughter glued to her classes.
She enjoys her technology classes to the fullest and due credit to technology teacher Ms. Anjali for explaining key concepts well and providing exemplary guidance in technology.
She loves to attend Marathi lectures with her Marathi teacher Ms. Irina who is quite skilled in making my child learn and grasp the language well.
We are thankful to you Asra Miss for encouraging our child and all support you provide to us.

  • Madhura Joshi (Student of Grade 12th Commerce)

It was just like any other normal day, I was sitting in my room and preparing for the upcoming boards, trying to improve my performance, but then BOOM! There was a wonderful surprise I got which not only made my day better but also made the stress disappear. There was a smile on my face when I saw all the teachers' performances for children's day. You all made us feel so special. Even though all this is an online way of communication, the dance, singing and script were so entertaining and funny that it felt better than offline! I'm so grateful to all the teachers as I understand that they are under the same pressure as we are and still, they took time and effort for us in such an effective way!! I just don't have enough words to express my happiness. All I can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH for this wonderful gift and for always going an extra mile for us.

  • Vandita Desai

  • Sonali B.Mankar (Proud Parent And Cr Grade 9b )

I Sonali Mankar CR of grade 9B, mother of Vidhi Mankar feel so proud that my child has been a part of this school for 12 yrs. now...I have seen every phase of this school's growth. I take pride in saying the past two years have been difficult for all of us but looking at the schools Dedication and Passion to impart knowledge, the teachers the co coordinators everyone involved in the smooth running the school online a big salute to everyone.

Watching the celebration today and my child being a part of it was such a moment of pride then when you see such amazing performances and the speech given by Madhu mam and Ashlesha mam had tears in my eyes. I do not have enough words to thank you all and give full credit to everyone for making our kids who they are today...the 21st century kids who are adapting to every situation just like our soldiers and doctors they are warriors too. Rightly said Madhu mam you are the mother duckling and always keep our babies under your feathers. We are so proud of our leaders at school.

    Thank you once again.

  • Vijayata Baid (Dhiara Baid’s mother, Class 1C)

I'm writing to express my sincere thanks to Miss Suparna and Miss Valina of Class 1C. I believe that the only good part of online schooling is that we could witness how truly amazing and phenomenal both you teachers are.

You teach with such love and energy and effort and patience that makes learning fun. Your technique of teaching is such that a child instantly remembers what's being taught. My daughter Dhiara wants to come to school especially to meet you both.

I ask my daughter what she wants to be when she grows up, and she instantly replies "Teacher". Such is your impact.

Thank you again Miss Suparna and Miss Valina for being so fabulous! :)

  • Neha Gupta

I am Neha Gupta parent of Ayaan Gupta 3B. I would like to start by thanking Billabong for such a wonderful online experience till now, the effort the teachers are taking towards the learning is remarkable. In this pandemic situation when we all are trying to accept and get familiar with the change and make it a 'New Now'.

School is the only place my son says is like always. The way Priyanka miss jokes around, politeness of Nida miss, shruti miss running behind the concept but making sure each and every student is asking his/her silliest doubts, Almas miss taking care and laughing with the kids in the break time, Art teacher, Hindi teacher in fact all the teachers (sorry for not remembering everyone's names) are doing a marvelous job. Where all the other schools around me are just sending offline work for parents you are trying to make as less work as possible for us. You guys have reduced the burden off our shoulder by making the kids learn at the best possible manner.

I am relaxed that my child is learning and not wasting his time in front of screen. He has learned coding, scratch jr, guitar, keyboard (as few notes were shared on ERP I guess by mistake) Art & craft, physical exercise all this from the teachers apart from regular school studies.

I was always asked why haven't you chosen another school for Ayaan as he needs to travel so much (I reside in malad east) you are wasting so much of time and it is like every other school I always said I just like the school so I have chosen it. Now in this scenario when I speak with my friends and here how puzzled they are I am happy and glad my child is a billabonger. I am glad we have chosen a school which believes " Every child is a different kind of flower, all together they make this world a beautiful garden". You respect the speed and understanding of each and every child and respects them irrespective of their curriculum achievements that is what amazes me the most. You are teaching the kids to be an overall personality and not be just good at one thing.

So, for summarizing I will like to Thank You all, including the principal, vice principal, members of each and every department which helps billabong for such a wonderful functioning.

  • Kasturi Banerjjee

I am mother of Yug Banerjjee and Ziann Banerjjee

Since last five years, Billabong has played a vital role in shaping up Yug and Ziann (since last two years) as individuals and giving them the confidence to express!

So far Yug has achieved a fair few public accreditation like Olympiad, LogIQids, SpellBee, Dance Competition's etc.!

And Ziann has had a remarkable personal and academical growth - we say so because his previous school had forced us to believe that he has learning disability! So now when he reads a book or writes an entire paragraph on his own - we know we did the right thing by bringing him here to Billabong, Malad!

    Thanking You in anticipation
