The ICSE (Indian Council for Secondary Education) Programme is administered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

The curriculum at BHIS aims at fulfilling the Councils mission of providing high quality educational endeavours, empowering learners to contribute towards a humane, just and pluralistic society, promoting introspective living, by creating exciting learning opportunities, with a commitment to excellence.

At BHIS, the curriculum emphasizes on understanding and application of basic facts and concepts, encouraging them to analyse evaluate and reach a stage where the learners can create and find solutions through the information provided to them with the help of class activities, worksheets and use of technology. Integrated projects, enquiry based learning form an integral part and aid the development of analytical skills.

Grades 5 to 8 serves as a preparatory years for the ICSE Programme in Classes IX and X. Students study English Language and Literature as the First Language, French or Hindi as the Second Language, and Mathematics, History, Civics and Geography, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Environmental Science and Computer Studies as core subjects.

Field trips and guest lectures enable children to expand their understanding of the concepts taught and relate them to real life.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducts three examinations, namely, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE –Class X); The Indian School Certificate (ISC – Class XII) and the Certificate in Vocational Education (CVE - Year 12).
